Cfao and DT Dobie merge to become the largest automotive distributor in Kenya

CFAO Group, a prominent African distributor of vehicles, has announced its merger with DT Dobie, a major player in the automotive industry in Kenya, effective from April 2023.

This merger brings together CFAO Motors Kenya and DT Dobie, consolidating their operations into a single entity called CFAO Motors Kenya. The goal is to create a robust automotive network in Africa by leveraging CFAO’s established markets.

Under the new structure, Mr Arvinder Reel will serve as the Managing Director of CFAO Motors, overseeing various operational divisions. He will be assisted by two Deputy Managing Directors.

The company aims to provide a wide range of products and services to customers across the market segments and offers the largest aftersales service network in the country.

In addition to the merger, CFAO Motors Kenya has expanded its local assembly capabilities. Associated Vehicle Assembly (AVA) in Mombasa will handle the assembly of Landcruiser 79 (LC79), Hilux pick-ups, Hiace, and Hino trucks. Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers (KVM) in Thika, Kiambu County, will assemble VW Polo, Tiguan, Touareg, T-cross, Mercedes trucks and buses, and Hyundai trucks.

This strategic move positions CFAO Motors Kenya as the largest automotive distributor and service provider in the country, offering an extensive portfolio of mobility solutions and a strong local assembly presence.
