AA Kenya and KATA Partner to Deliver Preferential Travel Services to Members

Kenyans travelling abroad will now be able to access International Driving Permits (IDPs) and Flight Delay Assistance (FDA) through KATA member travel agencies under a new partnership between AA Kenya and the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA).

Under the agreement, KATA member agencies will offer their clients AA Kenya’s International Driving Permit and Flight Delay Assistance services when planning and booking their trips.

AA Kenya is the only organisation authorised to issue International Driving Permits in Kenya. The permit allows Kenyan motorists to drive legally in more than 150 countries when accompanied by a valid Kenyan driving licence.

For Kenyans planning to drive while abroad, the IDP is an important travel document required when renting or driving legally. It is useful for holidaymakers as well as those travelling for work or business.

Travellers will also be able to access Flight Delay Assistance through participating KATA travel agencies. The service gives eligible travellers access to airport lounges around the world when their flights are delayed, allowing them to relax, freshen up and enjoy refreshments or meals while they wait.

The service offers travellers a more comfortable alternative to spending hours in a busy airport terminal, helping to reduce some of the stress and inconvenience that can come with unexpected flight delays.

The partnership is also expected to increase awareness of the International Driving Permit and Flight Delay Assistance among Kenyans travelling abroad, while giving travellers an opportunity to learn about and access the services as they make their travel arrangements.
