The AA Kenya 2025 ‘Best Driver Challenge’ is here, and unlike previous editions which were limited to drivers aged 18-26yrs old, this year’s edition is offering drivers of all age groups a chance to showcase their skills and compete for incredible prizes, including the opportunity to represent Kenya on the global stage. The competition introduces multiple categories, ensuring that every driver has the chance to shine.
The categories are;
- BYD (Best Young Driver) – Drivers between age 18-26
- Ladies– A competition for the ladies alone
- The Masters– Drivers between 27-50
- The Legends– Above 50 yrs
With the new categories, this years competition is set to have more participants and even more engaging challenges.
In 2023, AA Kenya introduced the Best Young Driver contest in Kenya, an annual road safety championship organised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). This is an initiative to raise awareness of road safety among young drivers and put forward the message they can drive skilfully, responsibly, safely and in an environmentally conscious way.
The inaugural event was a success with thousands of participants competing for the top spot where 2 champions represented Kenya at the global finals in Vienna, Austria.

The momentum continued in 2024, as the competition went regional allowing more drivers across the country to take part. Angaya Cyrill Stark from Nairobi and Kevin Lee Kipruto from Eldoret emerged the finalists in a fiercely contested challenge, demonstrating not only impressive driving skill but also precision, knowledge, and a deep understanding of road safety principles.
