TransAfrica Motors, the exclusive distributor of FAW trucks in Kenya, has unveiled the all new FAW 6-Series lineup featuring the JH6 and JK6 models. The launch marks a significant expansion in the company’s offering, aimed at delivering more power, reliability, and efficiency to the country’s growing transport sector.
The 6 series lineup was officially launched at Ole Sereni in Nairobi and was attended by industry partners, financiers, logistics players, and current FAW truck owners. Guests were invited to take a closer look at the trucks exploring the cabins, examining the build quality, and learning about the features and technology that set the new models apart.
The JH6 is FAW’s flagship long-haul truck, designed for demanding transport operations. It comes with a high-output 460 horsepower engine, a reinforced chassis, and a spacious, driver-friendly cabin. Key features include fuel-saving technology, ABS and traction control systems, and an air-suspended driver seat making it ideal for long-distance travel.
The JK6 series caters to medium and heavy-duty distribution needs. Models like the 4×2 CA1081 and 6×4 CA1223 are equipped with turbocharged Deutz engines, offering the strength and load capacity needed for regional logistics and construction transport. Their pricing is competitive, coming in well below rival brands in the same segment.
Several FAW truck owners who spoke at the event shared glowing reviews. Most pointed to the trucks’ dependable performance when fully loaded, their low fuel consumption, and the excellent value they offer for money.
“FAW trucks get the job done. They’re powerful, efficient, and cost a lot less to run,” one fleet operator said. “That’s why we’ve kept coming back.”
The launch coincided with TransAfrica Motors celebration of 20 years of driving Kenya’s transport sector forward. Since opening its doors in 2005, the company has grown its footprint to include sales and service centers in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Eldoret, supported by a nationwide parts network.
Over the years, TransAfrica Motors has played a key role in shaping Kenya’s commercial vehicle landscape, supplying thousands of FAW trucks to businesses in logistics, agriculture, mining, and construction.
In addition to the truck launch, the company highlighted its strong after-sales support system, which includes scheduled maintenance, mobile service units, and genuine parts availability across the country.
Through a partnership with financiers and all banks, TransAfrica Motors is offering up to 100% financing for buyers, with repayment periods of up to six years and optional insurance bundles aimed at easing access to quality trucks for SMEs and established fleet owners alike.
Kenya’s transport sector continues to expand, with businesses increasingly looking for reliable, efficient, and affordable trucking solutions. The new FAW 6-Series is positioned to meet this demand head-on, offering modern features and robust performance tailored to Kenyan roads and conditions.
