On November 2nd, 2024, AA Kenya marked a significant milestone with its inaugural Kids Fun Day, held at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.
The event, which attracted hundreds of families, was timed perfectly for the start of school holidays. The AA Kids Fun Day offered children and their families an opportunity to relax, play, and learn about Road Safety in a fun and engaging environment. For many, it was a chance to unwind after the school term and enjoy a day filled with entertainment and educational activities.
The event featured a wide variety of games and attractions for kids of all ages. From a massive bouncing castle to an electric train ride, toy cars, and VR stations, there was something for everyone. Children enjoyed jumping on trampolines, racing in electric cars, or challenging each other in games of chess and Jenga. For those with a creative streak, there was an arts and crafts corner, where young hands could get busy with fun DIY projects.
In addition to the games, the event also had a lively atmosphere, with a dance session that had both kids and adults showing off their best moves. Families were treated to a wide selection of food and drinks, adding to the festive spirit. It was clear that the event was all about making lasting memories, as each corner of the venue offered something new and exciting for families to enjoy together.
The day concluded with a heart-warming cake-cutting ceremony, where AA Kenya staff, attendees and partners gathered to celebrate the success of the inaugural event.
The Kids Fun Day was made possible through the support of several partners, including Tropical Heat, Mikalla, Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, Jubilee Insurance, Peptang, Greenpeace Africa, and Toto News. Their involvement helped to create an event that was not only fun but also focused on safety, health, and community building.
Auto Clinic
Running alongside the Kids Fun Day was another key component of the event—an Auto Clinic aimed at supporting motorists. Families who drove in for the event were able to take advantage of free car checks, while other motorists also visited the clinic to have their vehicles inspected by mobility experts.
Oriel, a trusted name in automotive care, was on hand to assess vehicle suspensions, while tire specialists from Kingsway Tyres ensured that cars were safe and roadworthy. AA Kenya’s team also offered free safari checks and diagnostics, helping drivers stay on top of important maintenance tasks.
The Auto Clinic featured a number of industry leaders, including Britam Insurance, Rubis, Chloride Exide, Hiview International, NTSA, Chixz Auto garage, Jubilee Insurance. Banks like co-operative bank and Equity were also present. Ride hailing app Faras was also present. These experts provided valuable advice on everything from car servicing to insurance coverage, ensuring drivers had the information they needed to keep their vehicles running smoothly.
In addition to vehicle maintenance, the Auto Clinic also focused on driver wellness. Lions Eye Hospital provided free eye checks, while House of Dentistry offered dental screenings for attendees. These services were a reminder of the importance of staying healthy behind the wheel.
