AA Kenya and Partners Lead Road Safety Efforts Among Boda Boda Riders Through Helmet-Wearing Initiative

AA Kenya, in collaboration with the FIA, FIA Foundation, NTSA, KEBS, Bodaplus, and the Boda Boda Safety Association of Kenya, has taken a significant step in championing road safety for boda boda riders.
This initiative was highlighted during the World Rally Championship (WRC) flag-off ceremony at City hall way, an event officiated by His Excellency, President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.

One of the major issues identified by AA is the inconsistent use of safety helmets and reflective jackets among boda boda riders. These items are crucial in reducing the risk of accidents and improving visibility on the roads, but their use has not been consistently enforced.

In response, AA Kenya and its partners have come together to promote the importance of safe riding practices. The organizations are focusing on encouraging riders to wear helmets and reflective jackets and are also offering comprehensive training for riders. The goal is to reduce road accidents and save lives by instilling safer riding habits.

Francis Theuri, AA Kenya’s Group Managing Director, spoke about the need to foster a culture of safety among boda boda riders. He emphasized that the organization is committed to working alongside its partners to address the rising number of road accidents and ensure that riders are well-equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for safe travel.

This partnership reflects a strong commitment to improving road safety and creating a safer environment for everyone on the road.
